General Description
The Teaching Block is situated next to a Grade II Listed Building, so a sensitive approach to the design was required. A reconstituted stone block was used, matching the natural stone of the Listed Building. The sliding sash window module was replicated from the adjacent Listed Building, together with a coping to eaves detail and quoin work. The Teaching Block allowed the college to form a new Reception Area, creating a focal point for the campus.
Construction Characteristics
The building is constructed of a steel frame with infill masonry panels, allowing for future flexibility if required. The scheme was design-managed in works packages, and administered on site by James and Nicholas’s full time Site Manager. |
